Bollywood star Abhishek Bachchan became the latest star to test positive for COVID-19. This news comes in moments after his father Amitabh Bachchan announced that he had tested positive for the virus.

Taking to Twitter, Abhishek confirmed the news saying, “Earlier today both my father and I tested positive for COVID 19. Both of us having mild symptoms have been admitted to hospital. We have informed all the required authorities and our family and staff are all being tested. I request all to stay calm and not panic. Thank you.”

Calling for those who came in close contact with him to get tested, Bachchan tweeted, “I have tested CoviD positive .. shifted to Hospital,” while saying his family and staff had already been tested and were awaiting their results.

“All that have been in close proximity to me in the last 10 days are requested to please get themselves tested!” he added.

Amitabh has been admitted to Mumbai’s Nanavati hospital, where he is undergoing extensive tests and getting treatment for the same.
