After Rhea Chakraborty’s complaint, two Instagram users booked for sending her obscene and threatening messages | Hindi Movie News
After Rhea’s complaint, two Instagram users have been booked by the police. “On the actor’s complaint, an offence has been registered at Santacruz police station against two account holders for sending obscene and threatening messages,” DCP, Zone IX, Abhishek Trimukhe had told Mumbai Mirror. The two users were booked under IPC’s section 507 (criminal intimidation), 509 (insulting the modesty of a woman) and section 67 of the IT Act (publishing or transmitting obscene material in electronic form), depending upon the information provided by Rhea Chakraborty.
In an earlier social media post Rhea had also asked for help from the cyber crime department. “I was called a gold digger. I kept quiet I was called a murderer. I kept quiet I was slut shamed. I kept quiet But how does my silence give you the right to tell me that you will get me RAPED and MURDERED if I don’t commit suicide @mannu_raaut ? Do you realize the seriousness of what you have said? These are crimes, and by law no one, I repeat NO ONE should be subjected to this kind of toxicity and harassment . I request @cyber_crime_helpline @cybercrimeindia to please take necessary action . ENOUGH IS ENOUGH”.
