Shabana Azmi, Hema Malini, and others question Government on the SOPs asking senior artists to stay home | Hindi Movie News

A day after a senior television actor was replaced by a younger actor on his show, Bollywood actors senior artists like Shabana Azmi, Hema Malini, Paresh Rawal and others asked the Government to amend the SOPs suggesting artists above the age of 65 should not be allowed on sets.
Talking about the same to a news portal, Shabana Azmi reportedly said that she is yet to shoot for a small portion of Vikas Khanna’s movie. According to her, if the SOPs are anything to go by then, senior actors will not have work. She also questioned the Government if the same applies to the politicians as well as there are a majority of them who are above the age of 65.

Elaborating more, Shabana also added that the technicians and the artists do not run parallel business where they can make up for their financial losses.

The report also added that Hema Malini had also written a letter to home secretary Ajay Kumar Bhalla where she cited examples of senior actors like Amitabh Bachchan, Anupam Kher and herself, who will be restricted from completing their previous and recurring projects.
Paresh Rawal also reportedly said that measures have been introduced to ensure the safety of the senior artistes and the producers should ensure that sets have all the necessary safety measures.

All the shootings were stalled after the Indian Government announced a complete lockdown in the country in March. Now as a part of unlock 1.0, shootings are slowly and gradually resuming.
