Vivek Oberoi reacts to ‘nepotism born’ comment; says ‘It feels unfair when people make uninformed comments like this’ | Hindi Movie News

Sushant Singh Rajput’s untimely demise has sparked the nepotism debate in the industry. Netizens have been blaming star kids and celebrities like Karan Johar, Alia Bhatt, Salman Khan, Ekta Kapoor, Sonam Kapoor Ahuja and others for making Sushant feel isolated and left out in the past.

Recently, a Twitter user called actor Vivek Oberoi a ‘product of nepotism’. He has now reacted to the comment on his Twitter account. He said that such comments can brush away years of struggle.

Earlier, Sanjay had shared a collage of veteran actors who made it big in Bollywood despite having no connections in the industry. A user further added a few more names like Randeep Hooda, Sushant, Shiney Ahuja and Vivek. To this, another user wrote, “Vivek Oberoi is a nepotism born.” Sanjay replied to the tweet and defended Vivek. He wrote, “What absolute nonsense. Do you have any idea what all he did to bag Ramu’s COMPANY? His Dad had no role to play in it. And his performance… definitely one of the best debuts of all time. @vivekoberoi”

Replying to director Sanjay Gupta’s tweet, Vivek wrote, “Thank you Gups for standing up for the truth. Many of us chose the harder path and believed in sheer talent and merit. It feels unfair when people make uninformed comments like this, one such comment can brush away years of struggle and perseverance.”

Sushant died by suicide on June 14 at his Bandra residence. Currently, the case is being investigated by the Mumbai Police.
